I haven't actually used any of the projects or used the book, but I've been through it several times, selecting the projects I want to use with my three granddaughters this summer, ages 6, 6 and 3. I babysit them at least once a week after school and a few summers ago I realized that just reading to them, letting them watch selected tv, using chalk on the sidewalk, playing outside, etc. was not the most productive use of the summer with no preschool available. So I started bringing "Projects" for them to do, and they LOVED it! I wanted the summer to be fun for them, but also a time to learn new things in fun ways. We made a dragonfly mobile to keep the monsters away at night (still working and hanging in the corner of the room!), painted, worked puzzles of increasing difficulty, etc. This summer I've decided to share a love of mine I've had since I was 5: Egypt! So this book had to be good! It is! In fact...I've decided to back up my introduction to summer studies to May...there's so much to do, such great projects to lend reality to the great verbiage that I've picked out too many to do!! Since I also purchased "Pyramids" to the same purpose, we are going to have so many projects, such fun and some kind of learning going on this summer!! Remember...I've been studying Egypt since I was 5...so I know something about it! I've gone through "Great Ancient EGYPT Projects: You Can Build" and marked which ones I particularly want us to do, and made a list of required "ingredients". This will not be a cheap summer...so please add the cost of projects to the price of the book. Having said that, I have to say that the projects are each not expensive...but they add up! I highly recommend this book, and I'll try to remember to update this in September of this year after we've actually used it!!

Loving this book for our homeschoolers egypt unit! Lots of great information and the kids (10, 10,12, 12, 12) are really enjoying all the great projects! Just what we needed to bring our unit to the next level and keep the kids interested and involved. So far the projects have been pretty inexpensive or we have alot of the materials already on hand. Great find!

great book, we used it for a school project

Nothing to be excited about but it has a few good ideas. It is my fault I did not check this out more carefully before ordering.

As a homeschooling mom, I have to find fun and hands on things to do with my dd. This book did not disappoint! I love the information and the projects! I highly recommend this book, even if you don't homeschool. The kids will LOVE it!

We got this book to use for our BIG EVENT at church (vacation Bible school). We are doing Group's Egypt theme and this had LOTS of great ideas to use. It has simple projects for younger kids and more in depth projects for older kids. Great history and pictures. Worth the purchase. To check out more ideas from this book and see what we used it for, check out: [...]Thanks!BLOG: [...]

Was new, I really like the book. It was just as I expected.

I will definitely use this in the future, but the one thing that makes it a 4 instead of a 5 is no images do go along with the building of things.
